Remodeling & Restoration Process

We can handle any project, from an emergency to a voluntary home upgrade. Our simple, straight forward three-step process has worked well for our customers over the years.

We conduct a site visit to determine the scope of the work. We then prepare a cost estimate outlining the entire project. We can price the job based on time and materials or provide a fixed-price bid, which insurance generally prefers. For small repairs, we can do remote-site visits or create estimates based on the pictures and measurements provided.
We recommend sending the estimate directly to your insurance provider for review if it’s an insurance claim. We can work with any insurance company. We have extensive experience with most insurers, and we use Xactimate, their preferred software.
Once the estimate has been approved – either by you or the insurance company – we schedule the repair and remodeling work.

Remodeling Resoration Services

Fischer Restoration can handle a wide range of repairs and remodeling construction projects, including – but not limited to – the following:

Dry Wall Repair

When your drywall has been removed due to water damage, we can install new drywall. We skillfully blend the mud and match the texture to ensure a seamless transition. Typically, the repair will include insulation installation as well. We can match or upgrade your former insulation, depending on your preference and budget. Fischer is experienced in all types of drywall and texture.

Painting

With a comprehensive list of painting services, which includes walls, trims, concrete and floors, cabinets, and other unique situations where extra painting is needed. Our team ensures we mask off unaffected areas – like baseboards, floors, trim work, doors, and personal contents – so they can prime and paint without impacting other room areas. Whether they paint corner to corner or the entire room, they’ll perform an initial analysis to ensure all painted areas are well blended and have a uniform look. For insurance work, the industry standard is to paint corner-to-corner entire walls impacted by water damage.

Flooring

If there is water damage, our trained technicians can remove the entire floor (carpet, tile, vinyl plank, or laminate products) and replace it, or – in the case of an engineered hardwood floor – may be able to drive down the floor low enough that they can sand and refinish it. For the carpet, we may be able to replace the pad and re-stretch the carpet. This can save you money and get you back in your home quicker. Typically, water-impacted hardwood floors will need several weeks to settle after they dry before being refinished.

Tile Showers

Our mitigation team can remove part or all of your existing shower. We then install a variety of tile, natural stone, quartz products, porcelain, ceramic, and glass shower surrounds and acrylic, fiberglass, or mud-fabricated shower pans. They’ll reinstall everything to meet industry standards as part of the process. Matching existing tiles can be difficult if the existing tile vendor and color are unknown. Fischer generally recommends replacing entire tile areas instead of doing partial repairs. Let’s talk bathroom design!

Electrical Services

Fischer Electric’s certified journeymen electricians can handle various electrical services. These include running wire for new outlets, replacing or updating old outlets, upgrading old light fixtures (especially those that are reset-style), adding new LED lights, and more. Call us today!

Carpentry

Fischer Restoration’s team includes carpenters with decades of experience. We offer complete wall or sub-floor framing repair or replacement, including installing doors, baseboard crown molding, window and door casings, sills, and cabinets, and crossing over into finished carpentry.

Cabinets & Vanities

Thanks to an extensive network of products and suppliers, we can source both the cabinets themselves (laminated, plywood-based, or wood) as well as backsplashes (quartz, natural stone, tile, laminate or wood), countertops (laminate, tile, quartz or granite) and knobs, edges, slides, and other hardware. Fischer can even provide custom-built high-grade cabinetry.

HVAC Systems

We tap into Fischer Heating & Air Conditioning’s highly talented technicians. This allows us to do everything from installing a new thermostat to installing a new whole-house HVAC system. We also handle ductless heat pumps, baseboard heaters, condensed wall heaters, exhaust fan ducting, duct cleaning, and furnace servicing. When there’s a significant loss, we work with your insurance company to help you replace damaged appliances. We’ll give you options that fit your insurance company’s parameters. Then, we will install your new range hood, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, or dishwasher.

My wife found a leak in the kitchen/dining room in our condo. After a plumber come out and determined there was mold in the wall, he sent out Les and John with Fischer Restoration. These guys were great!! They came in assessed the problem quickly and efficiently. After the HOA gave the approval on the estimate, these guys came in, cleared out all of the mold, which included some of out kitchen cabinets. They were able to save out granite countertop as well. After the work was done, we had to have a dehumidifier in the kitchen to dry out the wood framing. Les and John took the time to come out and check on how the drying was progressing. Outstanding in every way! My heroes! Fischer was my first call, when I realized that my upstairs toilet had been overflowing for about 45 minutes. The water was coming through the ceiling on the downstairs floor. You cannot imagine my horror! The most wonderful man, Brett, came to my house at 9:30 PM on a Friday night, and did a thorough assessment of the water damage and installed massive dehumidifiers. This has been the go-to company for my high rise for years. They are at their best showing up ASAP to do preventative work, so make use of that 24 hour line! I have not heard of any insurance resistance to their work- it seems to be generally considered an investment in minimizing long term costs. They have a nice way of pulling off baseboards and drilling the air holes behind so as to minimize drywall patching later. Employees I have interacted with have been calm, present and experienced.

Fischer Restoration is the only restoration to go to in any emergency. We experienced within the span of 1.5 years two absolute sewage plumbing nightmares in our rental house. Both times Fisher Restoration, special Thanks to Tom, for working through the night time all hours of the morning to make our living areas safe and sanitary. We have 3 kids and a large part of the lowest level of the house was covered in 4 inch of sewage, not the good kind, if there is any . My faith in Tom's ability and equipment is 1000%. He was also there for the emotional support of losing so many personal items due to bio contamination. He completed demolition and sanitation by working through the night. He was then back the next morning with his buddies Corbin and David, who then helped to finish final pressure washing, and shampooing the remaining carpet which didn't need to be cut out as it wasn't directly contaminated, but wanted to ensure we felt 100% confidence for our kids to return to their rooms in case of any cross contamination by the plumbers walking on that portion of the carpet. Btw, our rental agent used Fischer Plumbing the first incident and I wish they would have been the folks to come back out again, but as renters we didn't have control over that decision. Although I am so thankful beyond words that Tom and his crew were sent back out again. Thanks again Tom, Corbin and David. I wouldn't feel safe continuing to live in this house with our children if it wasn't for you guys. Prompt, respectful, empathetic, and diligent.
